[Radio] ARASHI DISCOVERY 09JAN15

2015.01.09 AD - Of fashion and FNS conversations.

[BGM ‘Hung up on’]

Good morning. This is Arashi’s Ohno Satoshi.
Every Friday I respond to the messages received on this show.

First up is one from Chick-san.
"It’s been cold lately, hasn’t it? Ohno-kun, on such a cold day, which member would you want to warm you up once and for all?"

Umm… MatsuJun! Seems like he’d wrap me up well!

Gross!

One from Blue Light-san.
"Oh-chan, good morning. It’s now winter. Please tell us you fashion for today. As always, are you in clothes that haven’t changed for the better?"

(laughs) Hey, Blue Light-san, isn’t that kinda mean? The way you put it!

Well, it’s true. If you glanced at me now, it’s not changed for the better at all. Some of my shirt buttons are even missing.

Currently… There’s not a single red item on me. Not a single red thing. Sorry. I’ll try harder this year. (laughs)

Right, next. From Sakiko-san of Kanagawa.
"Ohno-san, good morning. Lately, 'I'm exhausted' has become my favourite phrase, it’s kinda troubling. Even if I’m not really that tired, I still end up saying 'I'm exhausted'. Even though I tell myself that I shouldn’t say it if I’m not really tired, 3 minutes later I still end up saying 'I'm exhausted'. It feels like my luck’s taking a turn for the worse and I want to avoid that, but I still end up saying this. Even if I’m actually tired, I’d like to say something that has a different meaning from 'I'm exhausted'. What sort of phrase should I say? Something meaningless and short and magical and easy to say would be good.”

(laughs) Sakiko-san, you really haven’t thought of anything, have you?(laughs) That’s a pretty specific request. What should it be?

'I'm exhausted'… That’s true, it does feel like your luck will go down. How about that - 'I'm aliveee!' That’d work, right?

"Ahhhh… I’m aliveee!" Mm. And you are.

"Uwaaa… I really feel alive!"

Let’s go with that!

Next, from Mai-san.
"The other day, on Sexy Zone’s corner on Johnny’s web, Nakajima Kento-kun mentioned Ohno-san’s name[1]. Seems like you were talking during the FNS Music Festival. Kento-kun seemed to write very happily about it. Amongst that, he wrote that he was inspired by the fact that Ohno-kun watched his ‘Kurofuku Monogatari (Black Suit Story)’. If you don’t mind, could you tell us about your thoughts on ‘Kurofuku Monogatari’?”

Oh, we talked about that. Ah, besides that, there’s one from Sacrificial Pawn-san.
"What does Nakajima Kento-kun and Satoshi-kun have in common? I’m curious."

So we’ve got messages like that too. That’s how it is. Three years ago, when I did the serial drama 'Kagi no Kakatta Heya', Kento-kun was doing something for the same channel, too. It was the same… The studio next door, I think? So since Kento-kun was working there, he came over to greet me. And then during that period, often when we passed each other in the corridors, we’d often stand around talking. So it started from there.

Man, I’m pretty happy about that. It’s not often… like other groups, right. We don’t really get that chances to meet them frequently. Naturally bumping into them like that is great.

Right, so ‘Kurofuku Monogatari’… I watched about 3 episodes, but I didn’t watch the whole thing. It was like… ‘Kento-kun’! I guess he really suited the role.

"Ahh, it’s Kento-kun!" That’s what I thought. And then when I happened to look at it, I ended up just watching it the whole way. Mm. It was interesting, for me. Mm. That’s right, we talked during FNS.

Well, it’d be nice if we get to work together in the future. But well, Kento-kun’s really tall! Mm. Give me some of your height! (laughs) If we meet again, let’s talk about all sorts of things!

[BGM ‘Dare mo Shiranai’]

Next, from Tanukichi-san.
"Satoshi-kun, good morning. This is what I thought when I was looking at Johnny’s Web. Satoshi-kun, do you not know how your phone’s ‘enter’ key works? You always write without making any new paragraphs."

(laughs) I DO know it! I know how it works! It’s just that, for me, I just want to condense it.

So breaking into new paragraphs makes it more enjoyable?

"On that note, blah blah. And then! Dot dot dot…
Line break
Line break
Line break
This is what happened!”

Something like that would be better, right? So if it was like, "And then!…"and immediately after that, "This is what happened", it wouldn’t be as enjoyable, right?

I don’t get the point of ‘…’ at all. Like the members, when they update their part on Johnny’s Web, the one about the concert tour and all. The other day I saw everyone’s entries. And they all do it! The line breaks.

Is that normal? Am I the weird one? But it becomes really long!

They do the line breaks and the ‘…’, and they do it quite a lot. Then when you look at mine, you can read it in an instant. It’s really condensed. I kinda got embarrassed.

Normally when I get messages from my friends and there’s 2 questions or something, that makes it easier to understand, I guess. But basically… Bam! I have it all packed in. Maybe that’s just boring? (laughs)

Right, I got it. Well, I’ll give it a shot. I’ll try my best then.

And so with that, the weekly Friday messages have been answered. I’ll be awaiting your mail. The address is arashi@fmyokohama.co.jp. I’ll be waiting for you to send me lots of messages.

See you next week; this was Ohno Satoshi!
