Good morning. This is Arashi’s Ohno Satoshi.
Here’s today’s thought of the day; come on!

"If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?"[1]

[BGM ‘Bittersweet’]

This means that when a cold winter comes, eventually it will shift into a warm spring. So this is a phrase that means whatever current misfortune you may have, as long as you endure it, sooner or later good fortune will come around. This is a line from a poem by English poet Shelley.

It’s a good quote. That’s right, winter will definitely become spring.

Well, it’s really cold, isn’t it? (laughs) I haven’t really been outside, but even just being outside for a moment is cold. Cold, isn’t it? Or rather, man, this year’s almost over, isn’t it? It’s the 30th, isn’t that quick?

Shall we look back over the year? What have I done? (laughs) It’s really gone past in the blink of an eye.

This year, well, starting off, I started off the year staying at home alone, coming up with choreography. It really feels like just the other day. And then I did a serial drama. It was surprisingly busy.

So I did a serial drama! 'Shinigami-kun'. That’s right, I did 'Shinigami-kun'. And then the 5 of us shot 'Pikanchi'. Man, that was nostalgic! (laughs)

'Pikanchi' was fun but that was over in an instant, too. Mm. There was a funeral scene in it, and that took 24 hours. Now that was tough. It’s been a while.

After that ended, what was next? We did Waku Waku Gakkou, too. And then it was summer. What did we do in summer? 24H TV? We appeared briefly. This year was just for a moment, at the late night slot.

And then somehow or another, we had the rehearsals and meetings for Hawaii. Somehow or another. That was quick. And then we went to Hawaii. We had the album recording and all. Came up with choreography and stuff and had meetings the whole time. Man, it really went in a blink of an eye.

But well, naturally, it’s amazing, we were often all 5 of us together, come to think of it. We shot a movie with the 5 of us. Went to Hawaii for 10 days. Came back and went on the (concert) tour with the 5 of us. And then it’s already time for the special shows and Kohaku, right?

That’s right, tomorrow’s Kohaku! (laughs) I wonder if the preparations are all right? Wonder if I’m just spacing out? Will it be all right? But man, it’s really gone past in a flash. It’s been extremely concentrated. But well, naturally Hawaii was huge. And simply put, I just cried a lot. But well… oh yeah, that’s right, it was our 15th anniversary.

It’s been an unforgettable year, hasn’t it? Man, folks, truly, thank you very much. For this year, too. There’s still tomorrow, though.

So tomorrow’s the last day. That you’ll see me. This year, that is. Starting next year… I’ll think about next year’s work next year! (laughs)

Right, so tomorrow, too, asking your favour, please!

That’s all; this was Ohno Satoshi!
